The Mill House, Ercall Magna
About the Project
The owners of the listed Mill House commissioned Avalon Heritage to undertake a Heritage Statement to inform on plans to redevelop a barn, within the curtilage of the main building into a residence for a family member. There has been a mill on the site of the current B&B since the 18th century and it was formerly know as Ercall Mill. The barn retains much of its original fabric and the owners are keen to preserve as much of this as is feasible. The barn, on its front elevation is covered by a later building and it is proposed to remove this building to expose the original features of this elevation. Avalon Heritage provided guidance and advice to the owners who were able to incorporate this into their design and provide a robust justification to the LPA.
